Hummingbird Cottage

Excellent location. Quirky old cottage. Unfortunately, not the clean so many others experienced in the past. A broken toilet to start and no response from emergency number. The office took care of it the next day. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful home in the perfect location. Comfy beds and fully stocked. Only thing that would make it better is an outdoor shower.

Hummingbird Cottage was a great getaway. The house was comfortable and nice. The kitchen was well stocked, the front porch was wonderful right on the park, and the back deck was perfect for grilling. The location on the park and near the beach and restaurants was the best possible. The bath/shower in the second bedroom was the weak spot. It doesn’t drain well at all, the shower curtain hung narrowly around a claw tub leaves no room to not have it clinging to you and covers the shelves to put toiletries. We all ended up sharing the master shower. Otherwise it was lovely!

Lovely, well appointed cottage adjacent to the park. Our adult children and their families stayed at a big house near the beach. Hummingbird was a quiet retreat for us grandparents - minus the chaos of 4 kids under 10 years old.

Our family of three really enjoyed our week at the Hummingbird Cottage! It’s right across from the park and a short walk to the beach. Also a few blocks from the main street with lots of local shops and restaurants. The open concept living room was cozy and we loved hanging out on the back porch. The only drawback was not having an outdoor shower for when you come back from the beach. We miss Cape Charles already!

Wonderful vacation. The cottage is comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The kitchen had most amenities. The appliances are new. The beds were comfortable. We had a great time. Maybe as a suggestion I would have liked black out curtains in the master bedroom. All things considered it was a ver cozy cottage. We will definitely book again

My husband and I stayed in the Hummingbird Cottage with our 3 year old. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The cottage was clean and the perfect amount of space for the 3 of us. It was fully stocked with all the necessities and everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect!

Only bad experience was at Ambrogia restaurant. The owner is foul-mouthed and nasty. When we told another restaurant owner about our experience there they said, “Yes, not surprising. [Ambrogia Owner] is not a nice human being.” Avoid at all costs!

Hummingbird cottage was in the perfect location - close to town, close to the beach and right across the street from the park. A beautiful little house that was stocked very nicely. We enjoyed our stay very much. Would definitely recommend this cottage!

The location of Hummingbird cottage is excellent for families with young kids as it faces the town park. We had an issue with ants in the living room on the first day which made it difficult to sit on the sofa. The property management company responded quickly but the ants were still around for the length of our trip. Most of the home was neat and clean and well-appointed. The furniture on the back deck has not been swept and was not clean. I recommend installing an outdoor shower for guests to rinse sand off after the beach. We used the hose in the backyard. Worked ok.

We loved our time at the Hunmingbird Cottage! It was perfect for our family of three. We loved the location on the park and how much light the home got. Home to return soon!

This unit was spectacular. It was cute and cozy and close to the beach and the main attractions in Cape Charles!

Hummingbird Cottage was perfect for the 2 of us, but could have accommodated 4 comfortably. The location gave easy access to the beach and the town. The covered front porch looked onto the park, and the back patio was well furnished. The property management company, Chesapeake Properties, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! We had a great stay!

This was our first trip to Cape Charles and we loved every bit of it! This house was adorable - such historical charm, well outfitted, and decorated perfectly. It suited our family of four perfectly and we hope to be back soon. The location to town, beach, and more was excellent.

The Hummingbird Cottage is a very popular rental, and I can see why! It’s location is great; right across the street from a beautiful park, a few blocks away from the beach and bay, and a few blocks from the main part of town. The house is perfect for a small family or two adults.

Cape Charles is a beautiful place to vacation. Lots of things to do and great places to eat. Don't miss the Bakery and Brown Dog Ice Cream. The 2 bedroom Hummingbird Cottage is updated, light and airy. The floors are uneven, probably due to the houses age and the cleaning wasn't spotless. Has lots of beach stuff, a nice furnished deck and there's a canoe (no paddle) for guests use. The park is across the street and it's conveniently located to the beach and restaurants. The second bedroom shower is a shower curtain around a claw foot tub. Very tight and not friendly to use unless you are very agile. Still, we enjoyed the vacation very much and liked the place overall.

My family and I fell in love with Cape Charles during our stay. Overall, the house was amazing; however lacked a few essentials for our stay. We ended up having to purchase a cutting board, Tupperware, and zip lock bags. The knives were dull and there was not a sharpener. The beds were so comfortable, but the towels were very scratchy. But all of that is just little things that could improve the stay. Overall we were very satisfied and would book the house again.

Awesome property in a great location. Can’t wait to revisit!
